My endeavor to modify(change) my wifi router

I am using wifi routers available in my country.  When I bought my router, I wasn't aware that it's a kinds of simple computer system with much of the pc peripherals are trimmed and added extra stuffs such as wifi modules and few others.

I just use my router to connect to internet, watch vidoes(you tube ).  I also do some work with my buddies and communicate via internet with my wifi routar.

It bacame a demanding task for the router, when my kids started to play online games, As soon as I got a big screen LED tv and everyone started to watch online videos and DLNA movie stuff, that is when I have started to notice my router.

I'm a computer nerd with B.S. in computer science and learnt pc hardware stuff while working for different firms in usa and also got my shop in Bangladesh!.  I don't do the pc business anymore but my passion with computer and related stuff remains.

While fighting for online space I bacame very aware of my router.  I was thinking, I got fiber line in my home and home office, so I got top notch internet, But I was wrong, I do have good and fast internet but reliability and quality of connection(Internet) also depends on the routing hardware that I use!!

At first I had a Tenda router, sold it to someone and then got another Tenda router paying twice as much but to my dismay, it's not much better then my previous tenda only a better wifi amplifier with no good antenna to back it up.

Also Later doing all sorts of research online I hv found out that tenda using a cut down version of linux like os named e-cos, which they trimmed even further to fit the entire os into a 2mb flash chip.

I bet most people in this country still are not aware that they cannot use these routers with their full potential, then got good design and excellent SoC(Broadcom) but due to failure to use full blown software they cannot use all the security and benefits a router can give.

Why are This company Tenda(And some others like them) do it like that, I have figured out on my own.

I will try explain a bit in the next post.
